Director/co-scripter Giuseppe Piccioni's moving character study follows the effect an abandoned infant has on three people: the novice nun (Margherita Buy) who takes the baby to a hospital and finds maternal instincts that make her question her calling; the child's desperate young mother (Carolina Freschi); and a disassociated laundry owner (Silvio Orlando) who helps Buy look for Freschi and realizes he may be the infant's father. 100 min.
